Leveling up your belief in yourself is crucial to getting to achieving any goal you have.
Here are some simple steps to make that happen.
1. Accept the Truth
You have to take a hard look in the mirror and figure out where you are right now. Then you have to accept that you are right where you are, good or bad, because of your actions to this point. You ARE where you are based on the sum total of your actions.
2. Speak the Truth
It all sounds good when it is bouncing around in our head but we have to find someone who we can confide in to share what you discover in step one. Identify those things that have held you back; consistency, lack of starting, being confused on what it will take, being scared of being successful, etc. Once you speak about it you can begin to plan action to overcome it.
3. Take Action & Overcome
You are going to have to fight every day for a while to overcome the old you, and the habits that bring you back to comfort. Be kind with yourself in this process and avoid beating yourself up when you slip into old habits. The only thing to do is move forward and when you do that enough, it becomes who you are.
4. Daily Process Over Time
Realize that this process takes time and that it will be a day-to-day fight for a little while. Action is the answer but there will be days when you don’t want to do that. Realize that as long as you are giving 100%, whatever that looks like that day, you can look at yourself in the mirror and be happy with your effort.
Belief comes down to you. Raising your standard will help you with this. Think about the things that you no longer want to tolerate from yourself and eliminate them. What’s left is your standard and what you need to operate off of moving forward.
