One of the most common headlines everyone will start to see in the new year is about the latest and newest “secret” move, diet, workout etc. that you didn’t know existed that will FINALLY help you get into shape.

Well, I am here to tell you there is no secret.

Sorry to burst the bubble but I want to also add that this is actually good news for you!

Whenever a company/individual declares they have the “secret” it gives this impression that all the information out there is invalid and that all other fitness professionals are trying to keep the truth from you. This is not the case. Oftentimes the good trainers will give you the information up front and it really is not that exciting. Move your body, nourish your body and rest your body. Those are the basic keys to helping anyone get into shape.

Now, it is important to add that every single person is different. So what works for one person may not work for someone else, which is normal. One individual may recover well from 7 hours of sleep while another needs 9 hours of sleep. One person may benefit from a vegetarian diet and another benefit from Keto.

The key principles remain the same: nourish, rest, and move your body. There is not a single key ingredient, no specific move, and no one workout that will change your life. There is actually a plethora of options, you just may need to do some digging to figure out what works best for you.

As we enter this new year, do not be overwhelmed by the journey ahead and the abundance of information out there about getting fit the right way but rather embrace the lessons that’ll be learned and the varying growth you will gain.
