Lifestyle Change the Mindset

Change the mindset, change the body?

Change the Mindset

Most people who start a workout routine have a goal in mind. Lose weight, add muscle, fit into a dress, finish a 5K, or look good at their high school reunion. The reasons are as diverse as the American population.

While these reasons to get started on a fitness program are SMART (Specific, Measureable, Agreed Upon, Realistic and Time-Bound), they can also create a mind-set that once they obtain the goal, or once the event has passed, their program can also cease.

Change the Mindset

We live in a society of 6 week fixes. The marketing of the fitness industry tells us that we can get all the results we crave if we commit to just 6 weeks! Honestly, if it were that easy, we wouldn’t have the obesity rate that we do! Also, studies show that people who finish these types of challenges tend to have lost all of their results shortly after the challenge is over.

I would love to see the mind set change to a new type of training: LIFE.

Weight training, Cardio, Mind/Body classes, and eating well are all a part of this crazy thing we call LIFE.

It’s what we do everyday that will let us reach our end goal: A healthy body, enough energy to do the things we want to do, and yes, even fitting into that dress!
