Exercise Top 5 Accountability Tips to Keep You ‘On Track’

accountability

We all know what it’s like when you get stuck in that rut, or aren’t sure of your direction anymore and feel like you’re falling ‘off track’ with your health and fitness goals.

I’ve collected 5 of my top tips for accountability in getting you to your goals:

  1. Set Specific Goals: Make sure your goals are clear, specific, and measurable. Instead of saying “I want to get fit,” specify what that means to you, like “I want to run a 5K in under 30 minutes” or “I want to fit into my favourite jeans in the next 3 months.” This will make it easier to track your progress and stay motivated.
  2. Create a Schedule: Plan out when and where you will work out, prepare healthy meals, and practice self-care. Make your schedule realistic and manageable, and stick to it as much as possible. If you have a consistent routine, it will be easier to stay on track.
  3. Find an Accountability Partner: This could be a friend, family member, gym buddy or a personal trainer. Share your goals with them, and ask for their support and encouragement. You can also schedule workouts or healthy meals together to keep each other accountable.
  4. Track Your Progress: Use a fitness app, journal, or spreadsheet to track your progress towards your goals. This will help you see how far you’ve come, and give you a sense of accomplishment. You can also use this data to adjust your routine as needed.
  5. Celebrate Your Wins: When you hit a milestone or reach a goal, take time to celebrate your success. This could be treating yourself to a healthy meal or workout gear, or simply acknowledging your hard work and dedication. Celebrating your wins will help you stay motivated and committed to your goals.

Try these accountability tips and remember: maintaining accountability around fitness, health, and wellbeing is a journey, not a destination! It’s okay to stumble or have setbacks along the way. The important thing is to keep going, stay focused on your goals, and keep pushing yourself to be the best version of yourself.

You got this!
