All the different factors mentioned above play a crucial role in helping your body adapt to the physical stress of exercise and achieve optimal results. Proper sleep during rest days is also critical for elevating your body to the next level of fitness. Getting sufficient rest has both physiological and psychological benefits. Nothing hinders your fitness goals more than an injury, and one of the ways to avoid injuring yourself is by getting proper rest. When you think about rest, you must also consider sleep. Whether it is exercise, nutrition, or rest, they all impact your overall progress.

After exercising, especially through vigorous strength training, cardio, or any other type of taxing workout, your body’s energy stores become depleted.
