Let’s get right to the point! The reason you want to set a weight loss goal is that it gets you super clear on what it is that you want to achieve. Without this clarity, there will certainly be lots of confusion and misalignment in your actions.

Not only does this misalignment ruin your chances of accomplishing your goal but it also strips down your confidence and self-worth if one day you say you will do one thing but then you proceed to do the opposite. That’s not to mention the inner stress and anxiety this will also cause you to experience and feel. So you have to set a goal to become super clear on what you want to achieve because only then can you align your actions to follow that which you want.

Now along with setting a goal you want to make sure you attach a realistic timeline to it as well because your brain needs to know when.

You can say: I want to lose 20 lbs and your brain will go ok… great… when?

If you don’t set a timeline you will not take action because there is no sense of urgency that you need to get yourself into motion. Just remember to set a realistic timeline for you so that you don’t overwhelm yourself with too much pressure.

Now the next step is super crucial as well and that is to create a powerful why you must accomplish this goal no matter what! We as humans, meaning creating creatures and without meaning, we don’t do anything. So you have to create a powerful reason why you must accomplish your weight loss goal because you can be certain that obstacles and challenges will arise along the way.

Your Why is what will get you through anything no matter what it is!

Finally, the last step is to breakdown your goals into smaller goals so you can take action right away. Think of this… you have a whole large pizza in front of you with the goal being to eat it all right now because you love it. You’ve now set a goal, timeline, and why however there is no way you can eat it all at once or at least not that I know of, and trust me I know.

I’ve eaten many a large pizza successfully in my lifetime.

So how did I do it?

Well, I sliced it into small pieces and started eating it bite by bite, slice by slice until the next thing I knew it was gone.

Boom!
