Benefits of Having a PT

No matter why you come to a gym, it would help if you had a plan. Only expect to get bigger, heal yourself or lose weight if you know how to start. Just coming to the gym won’t make your dream come true!

The first time in a gym can be very stressful; as a new member, you are here for different reasons, and it can be challenging for a Personal Trainer to know its real purpose.

A few different reasons that make you come to a gym:

  • You go to the gym without a plan; see what you can do when you get there.
  • It is your first time in a gym, taking the opportunity to see a PT for a free trial. After the session, you think you don’t need a PT now for different reasons. You come almost daily on your own, but less over the weeks as your motivation decreases. Repeating the same exercises without knowing what to do becomes boring, and you start to feel pain. Unfortunately, you end up with your membership after a couple of weeks.
  • It is busy at the gym, and you decide to do cardio as your friend, who comes regularly, didn’t tell you what to do instead.
  • You previously got injured a long time ago but still want to train even in pain, but it is okay for you; you have endured this pain for years. You want to go back to the gym and do something.
By considering having a PT and seeing him regularly (online or in person), your PT will ensure you can reach your goal in the most efficient, effective and safest way possible.
Also, keeping a good form will maximise your performance and help prevent aches and pains. You get a program you can follow, and the PT offers you an alternative to stick to the plan.

Some clients want to have a break from their life. Going to the gym is just a break and something they need. Some want to have someone to speak to; they don’t care about what they are doing with the PT as long as they feel listened to. Others are too afraid to train themselves, but their GP asks them to exercise for different reasons.

All PTs have different skills, and not all want to work with any client.
I love teaching, and I can’t fit any client. I love helping people understand their own bodies but also helping them to train on their own. I would always have something else to teach them, but I need to make sure they understand the basics. Working out doesn’t have to be complicated.

Since I’m in Australia, I have learned a new job every year, and my business brand, MoveLikeMaëva (MLM), makes more sense. From Personal Trainer to a mobility trainer and now to a Pole dance instructor, teaching is the main thing that is important to me. I don’t see people coming to me as clients but as students.
Suppose you seek to prevent injuries, stay safe when exercising, or reach maximum potential. In that case, I will be here to help you as I study biomechanics, which is used to develop techniques that reduce the chance of injury and help you take your fitness goals to the next level.

If you think this post resonates with you, message me, and I will be happy to orient you.
