LifestyleWellness The Philosophical Meathead

The Back Story

Day after day, month after month, year after year, indulging in physical discipline whenever the opportunity presented itself to me, which as a trainer, was quite a lot. Every day eager to engage in something that would definitely suck during the moment, but would leave me with a deep sense of fulfillment and accomplishment until the next training session came to be.

A cornerstone of what I came to know as my disciplinary foundation, consists of 3 main components. In my early days, however, the physical was merely pursuing my passion with a young and unknowing heart. Quick to dismiss books, lectures, and teachings of those wise and abundant in knowledge, thinking the raw physical is all a young man needs.

But, life has a funny way of telling and showing us that our path needs to diverge to new heights. So there I was a young man humbled by life again and again, each time the feeling that there must be something more than meets the eye in this so-called life we live. Each time that feeling came back stronger, the need to diverge became ever so apparent to the point of feeling powerless.

Then it hit me, to achieve power one must seek knowledge and wisdom to regain what he had once lost and so came about, The Philosophical Meathead.

The Beginning

Over the last few years of my life now, using the discipline gained from my love and passion of physical training, I have begun building out other cornerstones of my foundation. These new cornerstones being in the realm of developing the subconscious and creative minds through the study of philosophical and spiritual text, self-practice of deep mediation, and creative expressions of writing and journaling.

Why is this relevant you may ask? Well my friend, look around you. In today’s age we as humans have become so far removed from any discipline of the spirit, mind, and body. These are the things that I believe can make the foundation of every human living today and with this foundation removed, we open ourselves to disease, mortality, lawless thought and action, and many other devious ways.

As a person who once lacked this foundation and has fought tooth and nail to rebuild it right under my feet, I feel as though it is my duty to share the wisdom and knowledge I have spent long days and nights seeking and learning.

So, it is with great pleasure that I will be launching this series of articles to shed some light on my interpretations of some of the most profound wisdom that has come into my possession. Drawing real-life applications from them, diving into deeper meanings behind the experience we all share known as life and hopefully bestow some newfound revelations upon any that take the time to read these articles.

As always, for those that choose to read my ramblings, thank you for taking the time out of your day to do so. Hopefully, my words will have an impact of some degree or even just make you think a little harder about something.

Kindest regards, Coach Palfrey
