Wellness Hormones and Weight Loss

hormones weight loss

Most people don’t realize that hormones play a huge role in weight loss.

Hormones have a large effect on multiple aspects of your health which include, emotional, mental, and physical health.

Hormones play a major role in your health which can affect your appetite, weight, and mood, as well as many other things. Hormonal imbalances are more common with how people live their lives today. In addition, some of our hormones decline the older we get, and some people deal with more of a decrease than others. Fortunately, eating better and making lifestyle changes may help improve your hormonal health and help you on your weight loss journey.

In some cases, you may need to see your doctor if eating better and exercising doesn’t seem to help.

Symptoms of hormones imbalance

Symptoms of hormonal imbalance include: sleeplessness, hair loss, hair increase (in areas that are not normal – for women), weight gain, irregular periods, low libido, vaginal dryness, erectile dysfunction, etc.

If your hormones are badly imbalanced, you will need actual medical help. There is only so much that nutrition and exercising can do. If you feel like you have tried everything to lose weight and nothing seems to work, then it’s time to make an appointment with your physician.

I have had plenty of patients come to me and ask me to help them lose weight. My main question to them (if they are over the age of 30):

“Have you had a hormone panel done”?

Most of the time the answer is no. Most people do not realize that hormones play a huge part in your weight loss journey. If your hormones are not balanced, you will not see much progress in your weight loss.

There are many options out there for hormone balance including: supplements, creams, injections, and pellets! If this blog hits home for you, then please see your doctor if nothing is working, and you are doing EVERYTHING you can to lose weight.
