Looking to Build Your Bench Press? Whether you're a novice just starting out or looking to build on your current achievements, this 8-week bench program is for you! We'll focus on building power, using your leverages effectively, and increasing your bench numbers. All of my online coaching packages offer unlimited messaging with me, alternative exercises and adjustments as necessary, and consistent support. Includes: - Online Training Only - Alternative exercises and adjustments as necessary, - Workouts provided will be catered to your schedule and preferred workout location/equipment available (gym/home or both). - Unlimited in-app messaging with Malori This training plan is split into two 4-week phases in order to continue to challenge your body over the entire 8 weeks and to continue to make progress. My story started the same as countless others - growing up, I was very active and sporty, but was always concerned with my weight. I struggled with anorexia until my mid-twenties when a switch in medication and 2 knee surgeries led me to gain just shy of 100lbs in a year. In 2014, I decided enough was enough and I committed to improving my health. I began working out with the goal of losing weight. I dropped to a healthy weight and though I was pleased with the loss, I felt weak and knew I needed to improve my strength. I began focusing on lifting weights to build muscle and absolutely fell in love!
In 2015, I was rear-ended in a car accident. I endured a serious neck injury and was unable to train in the same way. My focus switched into rehabilitation and body mechanics. I became laser-focused on ensuring proper technique and form, along with ensuring correct muscle activation. I also began working with a Fascial Stretch Therapist who completely changed the trajectory of my recovery for the better.
In 2016 & 2017 my parents were both diagnosed and passed with cancer shortly after their diagnoses. My training shifted again, this time to focus on my mental wellbeing. After my parents passed, my workouts were my favourite escape - something else to focus on that was beneficial for my health and wellness.
In 2019, I was rear-ended again while stopped at a red light. (I swear I’m not a bad driver!) This time, I sustained additional neck injuries, a serious low back sprain, and a broken wrist. My training shifted right back to rehab, but this time my recovery was exponentially faster because I was significantly stronger than I was in 2015. I learned quickly that the stronger I was, the less pain I experienced, so I set my sights on getting as strong as possible.
In 2023, I began competing as a powerlifter. In the last 2 years, I’ve competed in 8 competitions, taking first place in 4 and medalling in 6, including taking second place at the 2024 Provincial Championships.
Having trained as a client with a number of different trainers who employed different styles, I’ve been able to refine my training methods and decipher what kind of trainer I want to be.
My goal is simple: to allow people the space and grace to offload their worries and stresses of life, move their bodies, and feel energized and empowered to tackle the next thing life throws at them. I want the gym and working out to be something people look forward to, a space where they can bring their authentic self and not worry about judgment or being perfect. I want people to leave knowing they did something for themselves. And that effort is more than enough.
