Trainer style: Dedicated to helping you find the best exercises and motivation to keep you moving and improving. I follow a "younger next year" philosophy for lasting lifestyle change and whole being wellness. Supportive coaching to address behavioral goals and exercise prescription. I will meet you wherever you are on the road to wellness. I love people and supporting them with co-active coaching to reduce threats to health and well-being. Behavior change study motivates me to implement the best practices and evidence-based training techniques with my clients.
Typical sessions begin with a warm-up and mobility work before loading movement for strength and custom client programming goals. I believe technique and tissue matter, so movement preparation and recovery are non-negotiable to receive the benefits we believe working out provides. A fan of all forms of movement, I am experienced at providing "medical fitness" for a variety of health conditions and providing modifications for all levels of fitness, from pre or post-hab to athletic performance. I am an advocate of functional training for longevity and prescribe a holistic approach that incorporates nutrition and supportive health behaviors addressing stress, sleep, hydration, etc...
My process is collaborative and supportive, always addressing clients' readiness, willingness, and ability. There is no "fail" ¹ trusting the process and eliminating perfectionist thinking. You can turn your potential into progress and start before you think you are "ready." Imperfect action beats non-action every time!
My favorite client story
My favorite client stories are the ones that end with a new association between enhanced quality of life and regular exercise/self-care regimens.
My favorite exercise
I love all movement and cannot say I have a favorite as it changes with my exposure to continued education and new exercise experiences. I will say I have found life to be better STRONG, so my favorite exercise is the one that challenges me so that it changes me!
My favorite quote
Chance favors the prepared mind. Pasteur
Simplify, simplify, simplify Simplicity of life and elevation of purpose. Henry David Thoreau
My training philosophy
Display unconditional positive regard for clients and a belief in their capacity for change while honoring that each client is an expert on their life. I aim to ensure all interactions are respectful and non-judgmental while providing safe and effective exercise prescriptions according to their ability and vision. I request permission to challenge and provide accountability as desired by the client.
My training experience
Decades of partnerships with diverse clients seeking self-directed, lasting change aligned with their values promoting health and wellness and enhancing well-being. I have worked with all ages and stages across various settings, including clinical, corporate, community, and commercial facilities
