Whether you are a Dressage rider, a jump rider or a leisure rider you are going to need to develop capacity (i.e. endurance), symmetry (i.e be equal to the point it doesn’t initiate pain or affect performance) and robustness (i.e. improve function and mechanics to offset injury). From coaching 100’s of riders and actively researching myself i notice the posterior chain of many riders ( the muscles of the back, glutes, hamstrings and calves) are underdeveloped. This often leads to collapsed hips, gripping with the knees, collapsing in the waist and back pain. The Strong Stable Legs Challenge aims to kick start your equestrian fitness. You will have - 2 20 min lower body prehab circuits (Tuesday and Friday) - 1 30 min total body strength session (Thursday) - 1 yoga session (Sunday) - Additional mobility - can be done as you wish.
