About Ad

Hi, I’m Ad Coutts. And yes, I’m a tad older than the average Personal Trainer. But more importantly, I’m living proof that age doesn’t dictate your fitness level. My journey started in 2010 when a doctor delivered some ‘interesting’ news, two degenerating discs in my neck. The solution? A cortisone shot followed by more cortisone shots, or… hit the gym. I chose the gym.

But here’s the thing, I’d been going to the gym 3-4 days a week for around 10 years and to be honest, I was slightly more muscular and a bit fitter, but that’s pretty much all.

What did I need to do to differently? Train with purpose, with specific goals, using progressive overload, and train each muscle group twice a week. Oh, and do a personal training degree so I had all the knowledge and skills to train myself correctly.

I haven’t looked back, nor had a cortisone shot since.

Like many, I’ve faced the ‘joys’ of aging, including knee, shoulder, wrist and elbow problems. The not-so-subtle reminders that your body isn’t quite as invincible as it once was.

But here’s the thing, I learned to adapt, innovate, and work out new ways to get stronger and fitter. Today I’m fitter and carry more muscle than I ever did in my younger days. And I’m pretty much injury and pain free.

I’m not here to sell you a quick fix. I’m here to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over 20+ years of dedicated training. I’m here to help you navigate the challenges of staying fit as you age, and to prove that your best fitness years might just be ahead of you, not behind you.

Based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, I offer personalised training solutions for individuals and small groups, both in-person and online. Let’s work together to redefine what’s possible at any age.
