About Dan

I was always in and out of the gym as a teen, but had no direction. I was carrying a lot more weight than I should have been, with a very unhealthy lifestyle.

After taking on a flight of stairs and having to stop for air at the top, I realised something needed to change. With a history of heart disease in my family I didn't want to be another middle-age heart attack statistic.

As a child I enjoyed karate, but family life got in the way of me continuing past the late 90's.
A friend of mine was training with the same organisation I was a childhood member of, so I thought I’d give it another try.

Many years, challenges, tests and training sessions later I am a completely different person to the obese youngster who couldn't think of jogging without getting out of breath.

Fitness and health isn't about running marathons, packing on loads of muscle or being the skinniest person in the room (unless that's what you want). It's about being able to keep up with your kids, walk up a flight of stairs or carry the shopping without struggling.

Being healthy doesn't need to be daunting, difficult or time consuming.

Sometimes you just have to get started, making small changes now can lead to big changes later.
