Theodore Chino, Carlson Gracie Team Jiu Jitsu 2nd Degree Black Belt (under 3rd degree black belt Samuel Puccio), CPR Certified, MBA, BA, Teacher Certification IL

Coach background and experience:
40 plus years of Martial Arts Training, 30 plus years of coaching/personal training in the Martial Arts and Physical Fitness Realm, 27 years of training and coaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for sport, self-defense, and fitness. He’s trained with legends like Demian Maia, Rickson Gracie, Royce Gracie, Masters Carlson Gracie Sr and Jr as well as our MMA local legend Ricardo Lamas.

What makes his class/training special:
Health and Safety are paramount to him. Also, learning clarity of basic positioning and technique in a flow drill mode that can be executed safely and strongly to build good reactions in real life, training, and competition are super important to him. He loves to have fun and learn with his students before trying to conquer the world ; ) He also believes he’s learned more from his students over the last 27 years than vice versa.

Favorite coaching moment:
Every time someone executes a technique with timing and precision at the right moment! Plus, when his new students win their first competition (it’s happened seven times so far!).

Fun facts: Professor Theo has taught at every grade level from grammar school to university level and has studied 10 languages.
