I'm living proof that it's never too late to get started and that it's always good to start today; I'm healthier on the cusp of 60 than I was in my forties but I wouldn't mind a time machine to go back and teach myself all of this at a younger age. Consistency pays dividends, habit change isn't easy but can be broken down into manageable pieces, our bodies are amazingly adaptable, and we can always gain quality of life and health by putting some smart effort into them ... especially if we find what works for us and what we enjoy. The only way in which I'm a hardass about training is this: I'll cheerlead you to death even when you doubt yourself, because sometimes we all need that.
