About Shannon

My name is Shannon and I am employed by Iron-Bound Gym, Williamsburg James City County Public Schools and Williamsburg Landing. I am a Certified Group Fitness Instructor through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America. I am licensed to instruct Zumba, Zumba Toning and Zumba Gold. I have instructed the 10:30AM Saturday Zumba Class at Iron-Bound Gym since 2020. I love to mix in a little Zumba Toning in my classes as well as International World Rhythms. I think of Saturdays class as a community truly worthy of celebrating. From routines from a member’s mother country, favorite vacation destination or most cherished memory, I will bring that excitement and community bonding into our class. I will also take sporting events such as the Super Bowl, Olympics or World Cup music and build it in. The History person in me also enjoys researching a world festival such as Carnival, Octoberfest, Tomatino Festival or Highland Games and finding the most relevant music and choreography to go with it. I enjoy incorporating the holidays into classes as well such as St. Patrick’s Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Diwali, Hanukkah and Christmas. Saturday mornings at Zumba are unique, heartfelt and healthy for the mind as well as the body. Everyone and all levels are welcome in this class. Members attend Zumba classes to have fun, to interact with their gym family and for a great cardio workout. From the Beatles to Bad Bunny, come dance with our amazing team of Zumba Instructors and be a part of something that is as awesome as you are. We can’t have Z MBA without U, so come put the U back in ZUMBA!!!
