I spent the front part of my career working with high-performing professional athletes and beginner ten-year-olds. The one thing they all had, to varying degrees, was a clear purpose for why they were training.
Working side-by-side with physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers in a sports medicine clinic gave me valuable insight into transitioning athletes back to performance after injury - or training them to stay injury-free in the first place. After years of writing countless programs and testing exercise progressions to find what worked for each athlete, I found my clientele naturally transitioning to adults with ongoing musculoskeletal "experience" that leads to reduced performance.
For the last 15 years, I've been working with clients who just want to keep thriving in their daily lives. They're not training for competition - they're training to move confidently, maintain independence, and do the things they love without limitation. My experience from working with elite athletes and injury rehabilitation translates directly to helping everyday adults navigate their body's reality.
With a Master's degree in Kinesiology and 25+ years of observing movement patterns, I understand what builds sustainable strength versus what breaks down over time. But more than credentials, I've learned that adults gravitate toward patient, educational coaching - being understood rather than just being pushed harder.
When life throws curveballs - surgeries, setbacks, disruptions - you won't be left guessing what to do next. We'll adapt together, because that's what sustainable training actually looks like.
