Health, fitness, and exercise have always been a major part of my life, competing in sports such as football, track, and martial arts/boxing. I've been lifting weights since I was 15. Although Exercise Science wasn't my main area of focus in college, I did get a Coaching Certification as part of my degree. I also interned as an Assistant Coach with the local high school track team and loved it.
When I graduated I actually worked in radio for a couple years. It was fun, but there was too much sitting around. I needed to move! Since I had enjoyed my previous coaching experience so much, I decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer and switched careers.
I worked for Life Time Fitness for 9 years as a Trainer, Boot Camp Instructor and Team Lead, and as a Training Manager. I struck out on my own in 2011, and I've now been running my business for 14 years. I have primarily worked with clients in-person, but I've since expanded into online coaching so I can help even more people!
My approach is to meet you where you're at and demand excellence, not perfection. I'll tailor the program around your specific needs and abilities. While I'm happy to help you achieve short-term goals, it's also important to build sustainable habits for the long term. Health and fitness is a lifelong journey, not a quick fix.
Since I'm in my 40s and have 2 kids, I'm especially interested in helping similar guys get rid of the "dad-bod" and start feeling like they did in their 20's! That said, I enjoy working with individuals of all stripes, such as:
- Regular folks who want to lose weight and build some muscle
- Athletes looking to perform better in their sport
- Seniors with mobility/pain issues who simply want to move better and hurt less
- Power Lifters
- Body Builders
- Endurance Athletes (runners, triathletes, etc.)
- Brides prepping for a wedding
- Small Groups/Boot Camps
