My fitness journey began last year January 2020. I weighed 315lbs and was depressed, I lacked energy and had very little self-confidence. I knew I had to do something about my weight since I wanted to find a wife and have children one day. I wanted that more then anything, and I knew that wouldn’t happen in my current state. I knew that even if I found a girl that liked me, I wouldn’t have let that happen because I was so uncomfortable with my body and had no confidence in myself.
I knew that in order to find my wife I had to make a change, and that good health wouldn’t just fall into my lap. I knew that I had to just start and to stop putting it off until tomorrow. Tomorrow never actually comes, today is what matters. So I made the decision to hire a personal trainer and start getting my life back on track.
My initial goal was to get to 230lbs, every milestone I hit was a celebration. 275lbs, 260lbs, 250lbs was a big one, 240lbs, then hitting my initial target of 230lbs. By the time I hit my goal weight of 230lbs, fitness was a part of my life and it had become a routine/habit. I felt so good working out and my energy levels had skyrocketed since when I first started.
It was so good for my mental health as well, I no longer suffered from depression, So I kept pushing past that goal of 230lbs. Before I knew it I was down past that magical 200lbs and weighed myself at 199.7. I was ecstatic, and I was so proud of myself for what I had accomplished. I ended up making it down to 183lbs before deciding to start bulking and adding muscle mass to my frame. I now sit at 200lbs and I’m in the best shape of my life.
This journey and the increased confidence in myself inspired me to go back to school and get a diploma as a Personal Fitness trainer. I wanted to be able to help others achieve similar results and to get people to reach any fitness goals they may have. I got my diploma and got my certification as an ACE certified Personal Fitness Trainer.
If you want something bad enough you can get it, just make that decision and go for it. Don’t think about the whole journey and how long it may take, just focus on the only thing that matters, and that’s today!
