About Brittaney

My name is Brittaney Fortwendel, Owner/Founder of Studio Upgrade. My Pilates journey began in 2001 watching my mother complete her Pilates certification. In 2007 I began my certification process in Pilates while working as an apprentice in my mother's Pilates studio in Lafayette, IN. I had the privilege of working in her studios from 2007 - 2014. In 2014 I relocated to Zionsville, IN and began building a Pilates program for a corporate health club in the Indianapolis area. My time there allowed me to grow my education, adding nutrition counseling & life coaching to my certification list. In 2020 Covid-19 shook our industry. It became apparent my passion for working with specialty populations required additional precautions to keep everyone safe. The decision to open my own space both virtually and in our brick & mortar location was an obvious way forward.
I am blessed to have an amazing husband and son supporting and cheering me along. We are truly a family business. You can find my kiddo doing his homework in the office and my husband performing maintenance on the equipment often in the studio. We look forward to welcoming you into our happy place soon.

My home has taken on more responsibility – School, Office, Gym, Family Game Room, Craft Corner. Maybe your home has too? With all these additions to our homes space optimization has become a must! In my home, I have limited exercise equipment to items I can store in one medium size container. Here is what […]

Let’s Talk “Tech Neck”

An interesting side effect of our current state is a change in posture, an increase in headaches, a decrease in shoulder mobility, and difficulty rotating through the thoracic spine. Have you noticed it? The change may have been subtle – is it harder to check your blind spots when your driving? Or maybe it hit […]

Is It Magic or Is It Science?

Have you noticed your body therapist asks “magic” questions when you mention a pain in a part of your body? It might go something like this: Client: “My wrist has been hurting.” Therapist: “Hmmm. Did something happen or was this gradual/woke up with it?” Client: “I don’t know. I started noticing it the other day.” […]
