About Sal

Sal Nakhlawi is the Founder of The StrongHER Girls™ Movement and a Coach for StrongHER Girls™: Coaching and Personal Training. As a recreational powerlifter, she sought a positive, nurturing community for her health and wellness practices. She had trouble finding one, so she created one.
She is interested in the research done on the relationships between a positive self-image, mindful exercise, and their effects on the brain. She is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach. When she’s not helping others get strong or getting strong herself, you can find her cuddling her dog, Nova, or keeping up with the latest research in behavioral and neural science.
She studied Neuroscience and African Studies at Middlebury College, where she taught Physical Education courses on Powerlifting. She takes an empirical approach to strength training and personal fitness, drawing from her background in science.
