Hi, it's great to meet you!
Here's a little breakdown of life so far...
I guess I started off pretty lucky. My secondary school introduced us to just about every sport you could imagine. Track & field, swimming, team sports. You name it, we did it. And I knew right away that this would be part of my life. Always.
Back at the tail end of the eighties, I had the privilege of being a Ambulance Woman in England. I’ll be forever grateful to have had such a grounding career so early on.
Being reminded on a regular basis just how valuable our lives are, was definitely the instigating factor in me choosing to live life on my terms.
By 1994 I’d left the Ambulance Service to embark on a brand new career, wearing lycra and wielding my oversized cotton-bud as ‘Rio’ in the nineties cult TV show ‘Gladiators’.
During those magical 5 years competing on the UK team, I learnt how to embrace the strength I’d been blessed with and how to use it to my advantage. How to face my challenges head-on and to show up consistently. And most importantly, how to turn failure into feedback.
Once the show came off air in 1999, I launched myself into yet another diverse career, this time as a motorcycle journalist.
Female experts in the motorcycle industry were few and far between back then, women of colour even less so. I saw this as a great opportunity to carve out yet another unusual profession and over the course of the following 16 years, I became a well-respected international motorcycle journalist and television sports reporter. Defying the odds has always grabbed my attention.
Rising to meet challenges are what make us so resilient. In 2016 I had the exciting opportunity to co-found a unique skateboarding store in Belgium and I jumped at the chance. As with bikers, skateboarding is a passion, and being fit certainly improves the experience!
Which leads me right back to where I started. My own life-long passion.
Health and fitness of the body and mind.
Like I said, I guess I started off lucky. And then I worked at it.
If you've found yourself mid-life, mid-career, mid-location, mid-age, mid-realising-something's-got-to-change, or mid-relationship, either with yourself or with someone else... let's chat.
Reach out. Do it right now while you're curious. I can help you get from where you are right now, to where you want to be. Whatever that looks like to you.
On your terms. At your pace. With respect.
I've got you. Let's do this!
