  • 3 - Online/F2F - Brave Monkey 4 Anxious Kids or Youth

One on One (1:1) Implementation of Brave Monkey 4 Kids with Anxiety (BRAVE). Three (3) age categories: 3-7yo, 8-12 yo, 13-17yo. Reporting session to parents available every 5 weeks (approx.) - twice per 10wk period. 14 Session Program Pack caters for 10 x 30 min sessions with the child/youth (F2F or online via Zoom) allowing an additional 2 sessions for parent updates via phone, Zoom online or face to face plus 2 x booster session at 1 & 3 months after graduation. Kids typically complete the program in 20-60 min's on their own however working with a facilitator may speed up completion of the session but also may allow further discussion for deeper clarification or emotional co-regulation. As such each week the session is 30 minutes. If a longer session happens an additional session from pack will be processed. This situation may require an extra session/s to be processed once all 14 used. The Child/Youth will elect on commencement whether they will allow the Facilitator &/OR Parents to access their online account containing notes on feelings & homework etc. Parent's may elect (& are strongly encouraged by the facilitator) to follow along online with their own seperate 'Parent' version of how to support their Child/Youth throughout the program & beyond including tools & online resources. This additional service provision does not come at any additional cost. Further to this 'Parent's will have the option to share their 'BRAVE' account with the facilitator in order to facilitate even more transparency & depth of understanding to further improve the level of understanding & customisation to support the Child/Youth. This process is a delicate one especially if the Child/Youth are triggering from involvement with the Parent's, however rest assured the Facilitator will handle all situations respectfully in subtle ways to preserve privacy of all parties as much as possible. The facilitator will also flag any serious information such as potential or actual self harm, harm to others, or suicidal ideation to the Parent's at the 1st instance & in collaboration with the parents to consider the best strategies or any professional specialist referrals that might be required if necessary. Breakdown of this structured Program (below) In circumstances where parents or a school professional has identified your child is experiencing anxiety and requires some type of intervention, it may be most suitable to encourage participation in BRAVE in a 1:1 setting with a facilitator. This form of implementation may be most beneficial for children experiencing significant anxiety symptoms and/or who may require more individual support or monitoring in completing the program. In such a setting, the facilitator is able to provide technical, emotional or learning support – such as reading and comprehension – and guide the child throughout the program. For example, the student may meet with the facilitator once per week to privately complete the sessions. Each session can take between 30-60 minutes to complete, so there may even be opportunity for the facilitator to spend additional time with the young person consolidating the skills learned in each session. In this type of implementation, the facilitator may play an integral role through:  - Providing support and encouragement throughout the program;  - Following-up on homework tasks to ensure completion and discuss any challenges with homework tasks;  - Identifying when your child is ready to move onto the next section of the program, or whether they could benefit from further activities and reinforcement of the current material;  - Providing additional activities, such as role-playing activities, to further reinforce material;  - Assisting your child in implementing strategies and understandings to their individual circumstances;  - Creating a supportive environment that encourages successful use of the BRAVE Program and its strategies. There are a multitude of ways that a facilitator can provide support through the above described implementation. Some potential activities are offered below, however these activities are not essential to the implementation of the program. The facilitators most valuable role will be in the continued reinforcement of skills taught and implemented within the program. Children may further benefit when there is an opportunity to discuss these situations and which BRAVE strategies might apply to them most. It is therefore important that facilitators are familiar with the BRAVE Program and the material the child is learning within each session so that they can capitalise on appropriate and relevant learning opportunities. Possible activities that could complement each session are provided in the table below. These activities are general examples that can be tailored according to the age of the participants. Table 1. Activities to accompany program sessions. Child Program Suggestions for Supplementary Activities Sessions 1-10 (Suggest weekly to allow adequate reflection/homework time but can be sped up a little) 1 Getting Started. Introduction to BRAVE. • 7 Day Toe Touch - Mini Course

PDF E-Book & On-Demand Video instruction 17 minutes. Brief Introduction: The Importance of Being Able to Touch Your Toes Touching your toes is often seen as a benchmark of flexibility, but it's much more than a simple party trick or a warm-up stretch. This ability is indicative of a healthy range of motion in the hamstrings, lower back, and hips, contributing to overall mobility and helping reduce the risk of injury in daily activities and sports. This routine alone could be even more valuable for people that sit for long periods possibly for desk based jobs and in my district for example applies also for farmers driving tractors and machinery during spraying and harvest for example with hard grounds and less than ideal shock absorption. In "Reach Your Toes, Reach Your Goals: Master the Toe Touch," we explore not just the 'how' but also the 'why' behind this fundamental movement, setting the stage for a journey towards improved mobility, flexibility, and strength. Achieving the toe touch requires patience, consistency, and a methodical approach. The exercises outlined in this ebook are designed to gradually increase your mobility, flexibility, strength, and control, enabling you to reach your toes and beyond. Minimal equipment is required to embark on your toe-touching journey. Here's what you'll need: A stable, flat surface A yoga mat or comfortable surface for floor exercises A tennis ball, lacrosse or golf ball A small foam yoga block or roller (for Exercise 2&3) A medium to light resistance band (for Exercise 3) A 2x4 about 7cm (3’) wide or a pair of small dumbbells 1.5 or 2.5kg (3lb or 5lbs), for Exercises 1 and 2.
